Working Groups
International Working Groups
As part of our commitment to supporting international activity and facilitating collaboration across the University, we coordinate and lead meetings for several working groups.
Global Operations Council
Comprised of representatives from administrative operations, finance, and human resources, the Global Operations Council (GOC) is a University-wide forum for information sharing and identification of potential improvements. The GOC meets three times annually to discuss Harvard’s international activities, risks, policies, and processes, and to address future needs.
GSS Advisory Board
Our advisory board reviews and evaluates the operational and administrative processes and standards for international projects at Harvard. The group is comprised of senior University and School leaders and meets twice annually to provide counsel on high-level GSS objectives and service offerings that help us best support the University’s international strategy.
International Emergency Management Team
Led by our International Safety & Security team, the International Emergency Management Team (IEMT) is an integral part of the University’s emergency management response plan. The group is comprised of representatives from every Harvard School, certain departments or affiliated entities with significant international activity, and on-campus emergency support services. While the group at large meets three times annually for trainings and review, the IEMT Core convenes several more times throughout the year to review individual incidents and global events affecting the safety and security of Harvard’s travelers.
